Birding
BirdingBirding can take place all over the area. There are about 250 bird-species around the peninsula. Best birding-spots are the estuary, the fynbos fields on the plains and in the mountains and along the fringes of the many wetlands and indigenous forests. Dyer Island is a sanctuary for the African penguin and over 30 coastal bird species.

KayakingThe Beach to Cave Nature Trail will set off from Stanford's Cove. The trail is very easy and passes along the coastline of De Kelders. On the way to the caves you will stop at the resident seal colony and enjoy watching them play alongside the kayaks. In season many Humpback and Southern Right Whales can be seen.

This is the place that the Southern Right Whales call home! You don't have to look for them. This is simply where they are between July and December.
